Wynn started on the path to musical success at age 18 after graduating high school, playing the club circuit, playing bluegrass at gigs from Austin to Ft. Lauderdale. He relocated to Nashville in 1992 to focus on building a songwriting career.

Over time, he joined the Warner/Chappell writing staff and wrote his first #1 song 'Have You Forgotten' with Darryl Worley in 2003, and received a nomination for Song Of The Year at the CMA Awards. Wynn's recent #1 hits were 'Waitin' on a Woman' recorded by Brad Paisley, co-written with Don Sampson, and 'A Little More Country Than That' co-written with Don Poythress and Rory Feek.

Wynn's songs have been cut by a range of artists, including Garth Brooks, Lee Ann Womack, Brad Paisley, Darryl Worley, Montgomery Gentry, Jason Sellers, Gary Allan, Trace Adkins, Clint Daniels, Kevin Denney, Tracy Byrd, The Kinleys, Chris LeDoux, Danni Leigh, Mark Chesnutt and Sammy Kershaw.
